Centennial Park Nashville Engagement Session
I recently had the opportunity to work with Kisan + Radha for an engagement session at Centennial Park in Nashville, TN. Centennial Park is so versatile as a photoshoot location. It’s one of my favorite spots in Nashville because not only do you have the elegant grandeur of the Parthenon, but the stone masonry in the surrounding gardens make for beautiful backdrops as well.
I had such lovely time with this couple! They were so fun to work with and loved getting creative with each and every pose and location throughout the park. Before every session with clients I always ask for their vision / what they’d like to get out of there images. These two like more of a moody style (my personal favorite), but since these were engagement photos wanted images that were more lively, bright and romantic.
After the session I thought it’d be worth writing some tips on how to prepare for an engagement session as a couple. If you’re reading this, I’d obviously love to be your photographer(!). However, even if you’re working with another photographer I think these will be helpful tips.
Communicate openly with your photographer about your vision
Consider hiring a photographer whose style you both love (hopefully this is me (wink-wink)
Choose a location that is meaningful to both of you
Regardless of which clothing style aesthetic you prefer, be sure to coordinate your outfit(s) to complement each other
Relax, loosen up and HAVE FUN. Part of this responsibility lies on the shoulder of the photographer as well, but approach your engagement session as a chance for the two of you to have timeless shots of this beautiful, fun season of life.
